Glenn Clark: Best of Seven
Date:
Mon, Nov 4th, 2013 to Mon, May 5th, 2014Time:
10:00 amDescription:
Penticton-based artist Glenn Clark decided to focus on Canada’s national game for his commission at the Kelowna International Airport.
With a retro edge to them, his hockey players are greatly enlarged versions of the tiny two-dimensional guys controlled by metal rods in table hockey games from the middle of the last century. Visitors to the departures well-wishing area will momentarily feel a breath of cool air, as they associate the imagery with the ice rink.
Clark was born and grew up in Kelowna. He studied art at Okanagan College in Kelowna, then completed a BFA at the University of Calgary in 1991. The artist has exhibited his paintings in several public galleries in British Columbia in both solo and group shows. He currently lives and works in Penticton, BC.
