Time:

6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Description:

Family Celebration with activities for kids, live bands and fireworks!

Free to attend, "New York New Year's" will include skating on the outdoor ice rink, a twitter wall with a live feed (hashtag #NYEKelowna), multiple drop-in activities in the Kid's Snow Zone including the City of Kelowna's Park n'Play program, Karaoke and Wii stations, and Canadian-themed games like "Toss the Beaver" and "Canadian Goose Egg Drop". A favourite from last year, there will also be a snow pile onsite for kids to climb upon and build a snowman.

Courtesy of our event partners Valley First, the City of Kelowna, Okanagan Strata Management, Interior Savings, Streaming Cafe, 365 Productions, eVent!, and Bell Media (Kelowna), we will be providing free glow ropes and hot chocolate to the first 2,000 people.

On the stage, surrounded by an amazing light show, multiple live bands will perform starting with Bluegrass/Folk trio "The Trips" at 6:00, "The Public House Band" playing popular favorites at 6:45, and Kelowna's own "Kinship" performing their distinct, high-energy Celtic sound at 8:00, with "DJ Invizible" spinning tunes at 6:45 and 7:45 between bands.

Capping off this fun evening will be a fireworks display at 9:00 pm to ring in an early New Year. Shot from the North West point in City Park, the show will be visible along the waterfront from The Sails to Waterfront Park.
