2019 Labour Day Picnic

Date:

Mon, Sep 2nd, 2019

Time:

12:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Description:

The North Okanagan Labour Council is hosting a no-cost picnic from noon to 3pm. It's a fun event with a FREE BBQ, live music, and lots of activities for the kids like face painting, bouncy castles, and the City of Kelowna's Park & Play.

This is the Labour Council's 6th year hosting this event and we are doing so with the support of over the 40 local unions we represent. These include unions like the postal workers, bus drivers, teachers, and the BCGEU. Together the Labour Council represent overall about 8000 workers in the Okanagan. Labour Day is an annual holiday on the first Monday of September where we celebrate the achievements of workers in Canada. Its origins in Canada can be traced back to the Toronto Printers Union in December 1872.
