Time:

7:30 pm to 9:30 pm

Description:

Another Lantern Folk Roots House Concert! Act quickly before this is sold out.

With roots down to bedrock and branches up to the prairie sky, Jim and Penny are a husband-and-wife duo who play sweet bluegrass, old-time, western swing, folk, and jazz influenced music. They are also know as the driving force behind their band Back Porch Swing. They raised a family before they got around to writing music together. Songs about love of all kinds are delivered with humour and passion on hot guitars, sizzling mandolin, and their intimate harmony voices. They have played across western Canada from their home base of Edmonton, Alberta.
She is a gifted guitarist, with her own blend of clawhammer/finger picking style and she pairs that with a crystal pure voice and a unique ability to write and tell stories through charming character driven songs. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, Jim’s passion for music was ignited by discovering Doc Watson as a young adult. He has focused on guitar and mandolin, writing and playing bluegrass, old-time music, folk, and early 20th century swing.

This evening of witty, humorously charming lyrics mixed with tasty playing will brighten your day. $20.00 tickets are available at ABC Hobby in Kelowna or Mad Hatter Bookstore in West Kelowna or online at www.lanternfolk.ca starting Feb 8, 2019
