Okanagan Print Triennial

Sat, Mar 24th, 2018 to Sun, May 27th, 2018

6:00 pm

The Okanagan Print Triennial (OPT) is a juried exhibition that focuses on print making. Launched in 2009, this year marks the fourth iteration of the exhibition, which is organized in collaboration with the Vernon Public Art Gallery and the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies at the University of British Columbia Okanagan.

The exhibition showcases work by artists from Canada and around the world, from Toronto to Thailand. The techniques used in their printmaking vary from traditional to experimental, and include methods such as lithography, gunpowder transfer, and Chine-collé.

The exhibition is accompanied by a full-colour publication that features reproductions of the works in the exhibition, as well as an essay entitled Contemporary Printmaking in the Context of Postmodernist Art, by guest writer and freelance visual arts reviewer Agnieszka Matejko.

The Okanagan Print Triennial is curated by Briar Craig, professor of Printmaking, Photography and Drawing at UBC Okanagan, and Lubos Cullen, curator at the Vernon Art Gallery.
