Join Little House Contracting and our amazing local business partners for this fun filled, family friendly, Nine and Dine. This tournament will provide financial support to a couple of our favourite local charities HOPE OUTREACH and CENTRAL OKANAGAN REFUGEE COMMITTEE (CORC)
HOPE OUTREACH is a caring, trained volunteer group committed to improving the quality of life and increasing the safety of vulnerable women in Kelowna. Since its inception in 2008 H.O.P.E. has provided a volunteer based night time street outreach in downtown Kelowna to women, most of whom work in the sex trade and are homeless, exploited and disenfranchised.
In 2010, in recognition of the need for stable housing in order to assist women in their transition to a safe and healthy lifestyle H.O.P.E. opened their House of HOPE (HOH) safe house. This house offers 10 beds for short or long term stays. Women who have made the decision to exit a lifestyle which includes addiction and/or the sex trade are given the opportunity to recover at House of HOPE. Proceeds from this event will go directly towards House of HOPE operating costs.
CENTRAL OKANAGAN REFUGEE COMMITTEET (CORC) was formed in the late 90s as a consortium of United Churches working together to sponsor Kosovo refugees through the United Church of Canada as a Sponsorship Agreement Holder with Canadian Immigration. Over the years the committee has sponsored refugees from a multitude of war torn areas throughout the world. Currently, the committee is sponsoring a family of Syrian refugees and is anticipating the arrival of a refugee from Iraq.
All proceeds will go to support these volunteer based, grass roots organizations that are doing such wonderful work right here in Kelowna.
