Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society-BC Chapter

The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) has been Canada's grassroots voice for wilderness since 1963. Our mission is to protect 50% of Canada's public lands and waters by working collaboratively with governments, local communities, industry and Indigenous Peoples. The BC chapter was established in 1978 and is one of 13 chapters across Canada. Our three main program areas are connecting Canadians to nature (including youth leadership and volunteers programs), creating new marine and terrestrial protected areas, and ensuring the maintenance and proper stewardship of Canada's wilderness.
