The 2016 Kelowna Small Business Information Expo (SBIE) is a FREE tradeshow that connects your business with government support services.
The SBIE will feature a tradeshow which will give you the opportunity to speak face-to-face with experts from over 25 support programs who provide valuable resources to small businesses.
In addition to the tradeshow portion of the Expo, you will have the chance to attend free educational sessions, including:
10:30am - 11:15am Selling to Government: Interested in selling to the public sector? This panel brings together purchasing specialists from different levels of government who will help you understand the processes around government contracting at all levels in order to prepare your business to start bidding.
12:15pm - 1:00pm Pillars of Start-up: Do you have an awesome idea for a business you'd like to start? This panel will bring together experts who can help you navigate the complexities of starting a small business and provide you with information on the various government programs available to help you get started today.
1:15pm - 2:00pm Access to Financing: Looking for sources of capital? Want us to show you the money? This panel will bring together government representatives who will provide you with information on various financing (loans & grants) programs and resources available to your business.
Our exhibitor from the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate (CISD) will be hosting a workshop on contract security:
12:00pm to 5:00pm Workshop on Security Clearances:Security Clearances are often a necessity when looking to do business with large organizations. To learn about the Government of Canada's process and how to ensure your application is properly submitted attend this workshop that will help demystify the process.
